Women of Water is attempting to put together the first ever
All-Women’s Team for WEAU’s Operator Challenge. The Operator Challenge is a
great opportunity to try your skills both mentally and physically. It is also a place where many friendships
have begun. Each team has five members,
four participating and one coach.
What is The Ops Challenge?
Ops Challenge is an event occurring during the annual
conference, WEFTEC. The Operator Challenge consists of five events: a process
test, collections, safety, maintenance, and lab. Each event presents its own set of challenges
to overcome in the industry. First place
in the WEAU Ops Challenge will have the opportunity to represent the WEAU at the
national WEFTEC in New Orleans, LA.
There has NEVER BEEN an All-Women’s Team for the Ops
Challenge either locally nor nationally.
WOW is recruiting women to create an Ops Team and be the FIRST!
You don’t need to be an expert in the industry to be
involved in the Ops Challenge! Your time
and dedication is the most important thing.
Time commitment is necessary for studying material, getting to know your
team, and understanding what is required for the competition events. Equipment will be provided for practice by
WEAU. The Challenge is April 30, 2014 thru May 1, 2014 at the Dixie Center in
St. George.
Interested or have more questions? Please contact BeckyTanner or
Tiffini Adams for information and to receive a sign-up sheet!
Remember, our team will be limited to 5 members and is first
come, first serve. Sign up will be open
until January 3rd. The WOW board will then select the members of the
team and extend an invitation to those chosen.
Sign up to make history during the 2014 Operator Challenge!
