May Event Recap

Maura Carabello from The Exoro Group (http://www.exoro.com/wordpress/) spoke over lunch to Women of Water at WesTech Engineering on Tuesday, May 24^th.  

Maura had a few key points that she stressed in her awesome discussion about women and communications.  Her key points were:

1.      Introduce yourself using your first and last name.  Be aware of your non-verbal communication.

2.      Take a seat at the table. 

3.      Don’t leave before you leave.

4.      Take up space.

5.      Add value based on who YOU ARE and not so much what YOU DO.

6.      Don’t sweat the semantics.

7.      Be direct. Take the passive language out. No “couching.”

8.      Ask for it!
