Utah Women and Leadership Opportunities

Happy New Year from Utah Women of Water!

To start off the new year, we have several exciting announcements regarding opportunities to learn about entrepreneurship, education, and leadership for women:

  • Susan Madsen and Anne Marie Wallace recently released the first 2016 Utah Women & Leadership Project research and policy brief, titled The Status of Women and Entrepreneurship in Utah. It has the latest data for Utah and the nation, and provides valuable insights into barriers and best practices for women entrepreneurs.
  • Real Women Run Winter Training will be held on January 16th at Salt Lake Community College—Miller Campus (see flyer for details). It will be an excellent opportunity to learn and is designed for those who are interested in getting more involved in the community in various ways—including being involved in campaigns, on boards and commissions, and preparing to run for public office. It costs $15, which includes lunch.
  • Utah Women & Education Initiative wants to recognize the remarkable women in Utah by highlighting Utah’s Educated Women of the Week.  Read about these role models and learn how to nominate the women who inspire you!
  • RSVP  for the March 3, 2016 (5:30-7:00 pm) event at UVU titled “The Situation & Status of Women Worldwide” with internationally known scholar and writer, Dr. Valerie Hudson from Texas A&M University. See details here. She is amazing!
