Join us for the Women of Water's virtual discussion on water and relevant issues during the 2024 legislative session.
Speaker: Sarah M. Shechter
Sarah M. Shechter has served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah since 2015. She currently advises the Division of Water Rights and the State Engineer on a variety of matters, including legislation, federal-state interaction, tribal matters, water rights litigation, and other water rights issues. She also spent more than seven years representing the State Engineer in general stream adjudications around the state. Prior to moving to Utah, Sarah served as the law clerk for the Division 1 water court in Greeley, Colorado, and then worked in private practice. She earned her J.D. from Colorado Law at the University of Colorado in 2008 and her B.A. in English from Georgetown University in 2005. Sarah lives with her family in Salt Lake City.
