February Event Recap

Investigating the Importance of Great Salt Lake | February 11

Women of Water's February presentation took us back in time to learn about the Great Salt Lake and its surrounding wetlands.  Ashley Kijowski was a wealth of knowledge on all topics Great Salt Lake, and her presentation was enjoyed by all.  Highlights included learning about the magnitude of revenue brought to Utah by the GSL, the varied species (brine shrimp and pelicans to name a few) that rely on the GSL wetlands, and the history of conservation efforts to maintain these essential wetlands.

This was also not only Women of Water's first event at Tracy Aviary's Jordan River Nature Center, but also the first ever gathering at the new center!  We loved the space and are proud to be the first group to utilize the new venue.  We are looking forward to the full build out of the center and the awesome resources it will bring to our community.  Check out a few photos of our event at the Nature Center!

We thank Ashley for her time and educating our attendees on an amazing environmental asset right her in our own backyard!

Don't miss our next event - an evening social to add some fun to your March!  Details soon to come...
