Summer Announcements

In July and August, we will feature speakers focusing on salary negotiation. 

The July speaker will be Susan Marks, who will speak on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at noon at WesTech (3665 S West Temple Salt Lake City, UT). Susan Marks is the Head of the Career Advancement Center for part-time MBA students at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. Her presentation is titled – “It’s competitive out there – be a top candidate and get the offers you want!”

Topics include:

1.      It’s all about relationships

2.      Do your ‘due diligence’ as though your career depended on it

3.      Wow them in the interview so you get a top offer

This event is open to women in any field, so please invite your co-workers, family and friends.

• Dr. Susan Madsen and Robbyn T. Scribner recently released the 9th Utah Women Stats research snapshot titled “Unpaid Care Work Among Utah Women.” This work was made possible by the Utah Women's Giving Circle.
• Dr. Madsen and Erin Jemison (Director of Public Policy, YWCA Utah) also put together several resources for those interested in conversations about childcare. A document titled, “Strategies to Strengthen Women's Impact in Utah: Childcare” (see list of experts in the document) has been made available after a recent luncheon with ten childcare experts from the state of Utah. A list of links to published reports on childcare in Utah over past years can be found here.
• There are a number of programs/camps for Utah girls/young women (K-12), listed here (third section down). Also, there are lots of women’s events in Utah during the summer, ranging from networking opportunities, to luncheons, to golf tournaments, and workshops.
